The decision to start a blog came as a collective effort on behalf of friends and family who continually nudged me, along with their laughter and constant, loving badgering, to “Write a book!”
I started writing my life anecdotes years ago, primarily as a first-person account of my goofy life for my grandkids to read long after my untimely demise. As my son was growing up, whenever yet another “Luuuuucy…!” moment would occur, he would look over and dryly comment, “THAT will go in the book.”
Years later, I started facebooking these stories, freely and cheerfully sharing my epic fails and embarrassing moments with a growing list of friends who repeatedly urged me (bless your hearts!) to compile them and “Write a book!” (Hubs says he can’t walk the dog without running into a facebook friend who asks, “Did she REALLY _______??” He just sighs and replies, “You have NO idea…”)
I love all things timeless (check out my car…circa 1974), and I’ve been sifting through my journals and fb posts to pull out the classic moments that made you laugh and made me cringe (or in some cases, consider changing my name and moving to another state). This blog is a collection of the stories you loved most, stories my family happily repeats around the dinner table, at family reunions, or simply to pass the time with total strangers at the airport. To those of you who have read them before, welcome back! To new friends, welcome to my crazy, goofy, I-can’t-believe-you-put-that-on-facebook life! This is My Book.
