It’s here!! I’m beyond excited to release my third book, Chin Hairs & Back Fat, Somewhere Between Tweezers, Yoga Pants & a Box of Wine. It’s a compilation of many of your favorite essays from Laugh Lines, plus a few you haven’t read yet, all in one place!
My personal stash arrived this week, for readers who want an autographed copy. I’ve been staring at it for two days (and occasionally petting it). Hubs keeps reminding me that I’m a supposed to be a writer, but my entire vocabulary has apparently been reduced to “This is AWESOME.”
This book is a fat little guy, 365 pages, busting with humorous essays on aging (almost) gracefully in a youth-obsessed society. It tackles the issues of life after 50, with irreverent advice on love (we could all use a different perspective from time to time), marriage (on my third one. I’m an expert), sex (contrary to what our children think, we do still like it), BFFs (why we need them), and fashion after 50 (rules are made to be broken). There are personal anecdotes, where I share my most embarrassing moments for your entertainment, and my musings about the hilarity of aging. Together with a booty-load of how-to lists on navigating the fine line between trying to stay young (often deeming us vain and shallow), or thinking “Screw it. I’m going to age naturally” (also knows as “letting yourself go”), I hope this book will help guide you through the waters of midlife with a smile on your face and laughter in your heart.
Chapter titles include:
You Shouldn’t Have. Really, You Shouldn’t. The Husband’s Guide to Valentine’s Day
My Scale Mocks Me. She Needs to Die
Empty Nest. First You Cry. Then You Laugh
From Cougar to Crazy Cat Lady. Has it Happened to You?
Sex. The Good, the Bad, and the What the Hell Were We Thinking?
Forget Frumpy. These Things Make You Look Fat
If Women Ruled the World
Because I never miss an opportunity to celebrate (preferably with a fabulous Cabernet), and to commemorate my third book, we’re putting BOTH Chin Hairs & Back Fat and Who Left the Cork Out of My Lunch? on sale this week, from April 25 to May 1, for 99 CENTS. Amazon will be dropping the price sometime today, but we don’t know when. It’s kind of like chef surprise, so keep checking in!
We’re also hosting a Facebook giveaway. with ebooks for THREE people if you share this post on FB. Simple, fun, and easy to enter!
I will keep this post pinned at the top of my two FB pages (personal and Laugh Lines) until 6:00 p.m. on May 1st. Winners will be selected by random drawing.
All of my books are available for purchase on Amazon. Simply click the cover photo on the right sidebar of the book you’d like to order, and it will take you directly to the order page. Or you can visit my to get descriptions, reviews, and order information on all of them.
In the meantime, a special thank you to everyone who provided ARC reviews for the book and for Amazon. Reviews are the Holy Grail for finding new readers and followers, especially for new writers. If you’d like to post a review but haven’t done so yet, thank you in advance. (Hubs and Capitol One Venture Card also send their deepest appreciation.)
Good luck, and thank you for your support!
